Holiday Skiing at Blue Mountain: Worth the Chaos

Holiday season at Blue Mountain means one thing right away: lines. Lines for lifts, lines for rentals, lines for pretty much everything.

Still, I had a lot of fun skiing today.

The only real downside was the lift situation. Waiting 15 minutes just to get a 5-minute run isn’t exactly ideal. At one point I looked at the line, did the math, and decided to just walk up the slope instead. Not the plan. Way more cardio than expected. Clearly need to step up the weight training.

I got there around 10am, which helped. Enough time to get some solid runs in before the mountain fully turned into controlled chaos.

By the time I was leaving around 4pm, the place felt alive from top to bottom. No parking left, rental lines going crazy, people everywhere. Honestly, owning your own gear might be the move, skip the waits and go straight to the fun.

I stuck to skiing today ⛷️, but if I had to choose just one long term, I think snowboarding might win 🏂.

Definitely not a cheap hobby… But that’s a conversation for another day.
